Who should go?

Freedivers - Although you'll benefit from experience spearfishing for large pelagics in current, depth and open ocean conditions when diving locations like Alijos Rocks, It is not necessary to have extreme breath-holding capabilities or first hand experience with 100 + pound Tuna in order to shoot fish and experience the awesome waters off of San Benito and Alijos Rocks!

It is absolutely necessary however, that you dive and spearfish within your own comfort levels. If you have never shot a fish over 20 pounds, it is NOT a good idea to shoot that 100+ pound Yellowfin that comes cruising by.

Also, as responsible spearfishermen, we don’t shoot fish that we are not properly equipped to shoot. If you shoot a nice 60 pound White Sea Bass and you have no reel or trail line, you will lose your gun and the fish which is a waste responsible spearos try to avoid if at all possible.

Dive and spear responsibly - within your personal limits and within the limits of your gear.

Scuba Divers - For the truly adventurous Scuba Diver that wants to explore the pristine and virgin reefs off of the coast of Baja, this will be the trip of a lifetime.  As the Freedivers explore the upper water column (no spearfishing on Scuba allowed in Mexico), you can explore the high density of tropical and subtropical marine life these remote and rarely dove reefs offer. In fact, there is a high possibility you will be diving areas that have never been dove before - the mark of true explorers!

Yes....YOU should go.....

Participant Responsibility

Trip participants are responsible for their own well-being. This includes good health and physical conditioning sufficient for the type of conditions you choose to dive in. Participants are aware of the inherent risks in freediving and spearfishing for large pelagic fish and scuba diving in the extremely remote locations.
